An impenetrable code of silence

In the shadowy underbelly of certain professions, a troubling code of silence often prevails. This unwritten rule dictates that members should remain silent about injustices. Fear of retribution from fellow members, coupled with a sense of loyalty towards the group, upholds this unbreakable silence. As a result, justice is often obscured, allowing corruption to thrive.

Breaking this code can be incredibly perilous. Individuals dare to speak out often face isolation, becoming pariahs themselves. This corrosive silence creates a climate of fear where honesty is nonexistent.

You yearn to escape, break free, get out, but the door remains sealed, bars hold firm, lock refuses to budge.

Then there's the opposite: being locked out, shut outside, denied entry. The world beckons, teases, calls from just beyond your reach. You see the warmth, light, life inside, but you're excluded, separated, left behind. It can feel like a cold, lonely, desolate existence, isolated, abandoned, forgotten.
